Makeup Foundation
Makeup Foundation is a product of makeup that
gives flawless look to the face covering all the dark areas, sports, blemishes
and dark circles. These foundations are designed in every color to match the skin
tone and sometimes to enhance the skin tone. There are few foundations that
also work as sunscreen, moisturizer, and other multiple functions. The
foundation trend originated from the ancient trend of face painting.
The coverage of these
foundations range from sheer, light, medium and heavy coverage. Due to increasing
competition, companies are emerging with new and creative ideas. For example,
the latest trend is focused on full coverage foundation; such as, Dermacol
Foundations that got high attention due to their ability to hide everything on
the face. After the rise of this foundation, companies are coming up with total
coverage foundations keeping in account customer needs. However, one of the
drawbacks of high coverage foundation is that they might end up creating
creasing and lines if not blended properly.
There are different
kinds of application tools for foundation blending; such as, sponge, brush, airbrush
and fingers. There are many makeup artists that use fingers as they believe
that the fingers have natural heat that have the ability to blend the
foundation properly without creasing. The fingers allow the foundation to blend
and mix into the skin. For stick foundations, fingers work the best but for liquids, brushes and sponges are good option.
There are different
formulations with the help of which foundations are made; such as, oil based
shakers, oil and emollient, alcohol based, mineral based, powder based, silicon
based and water based. The most popular forms in market are stick foundation,
mineral foundation, powder foundation, liquid foundation, BB cream and CC
cream.
It is an endless quest
to search and choose the right foundation for your skin type on the basis of
coverage, skin tone, skin type, and other personal needs. Matching skin tone is
very important to give even and defined look. In many cases, people opt for
extreme lighter foundation than their skin tone that ends up giving them grey
and unnatural look. There are cool and warm undertone of skin that
helps one choose the right foundation. It is always better to check the color
of foundation on the wrist and then leave it for thirty minutes. After
sometime, you can get the accurate idea of if the foundation matches skin tone
and lasting as well.
